Drugs under development
Prestwick has an outstanding track record of achievements in lead optimization, based on long-term practice of medicinal chemistry.
Several industrial collaborations led to drugs presently on the market or in advanced and early development phases.
Listed below are the most recent achievements issued from contract research done for our partners:
- Starting from a micromolar active hit, we achieved the synthesis of an orally available and totally original anti-cancer drug candidate in the nanomolar range. The compound is also active on resistant cancer cell lines.
- Starting from a phosphodiesterase subtype inhibitor, we were able to synthesize a highly selective subtype ligand with increased potency, better solubility and improved in vivo profile.
- Within 6 months, we were able to transform a positive ionic channel modulator (30 µM) into a full agonist with an improved potency (0.2 µM).
- Following an initial SAR study limited to a few months, we designed and synthesized a new structurally original prototype relevant as calcium receptor antagonist.
